BP operates one of the biggest branded networks in the country, and its pricing reflects where the sites sit rather than any single national policy. A BP on a retail park competing with a supermarket will be priced very differently from a BP at a motorway junction where it is the only option for fifteen miles.
The brand sells BP Ultimate alongside standard grades, a premium fuel with a heavier detergent package. It genuinely does clean injectors and valves over time, but at fifteen to twenty pence a litre more it is an expensive way to do it. Running one tank of premium every few months achieves most of the benefit for a fraction of the cost.
Many BP forecourts are franchise operations rather than company-owned, and a good number now carry M&S Food. Those convenience-led sites tend to price above the network average, because the shop rather than the pump is doing the earning.
Below you will find the cheapest BP stations in our current data and how the brand compares to the UK average across each grade.
