Our Data Sources
Transparency is key. Here is exactly where we get our fuel prices and station information.
1. The UK Government Fuel Finder Service
The vast majority of our fuel price data is drawn directly from the official UK Government Fuel Finder Scheme (operated under the Motor Fuel Price Regulations 2025). Major supermarkets and independent retailers are legally required to securely transmit their live pump prices to this centralized government database within 30 minutes of any change. We sync our platform with this API every 5 minutes to guarantee you see the freshest, most accurate data possible across nearly 8,000 UK forecourts.
Brands currently providing data via this scheme include:
2. Community Discrepancy Reporting
While the government data feed is incredibly accurate, errors can sometimes occur at the local level. We empower our users to submit real-time "Discrepancy Reports" if the price shown on our site differs from the physical pump. We actively collect this community feedback and provide it directly to the government aggregator to help enforce compliance and keep the ecosystem honest.
3. OpenStreetMap & GeoData
To help you figure out if a station has a Car Wash, ATM, or is open 24/7, we cross-reference the CMA locations against the incredible OpenStreetMap database using the Overpass API. Our map interfaces are rendered using Leaflet.js.
Postcode and town geolocation services are powered by the free and open Postcodes.io API.
