The A55 defines fuel pricing across North Wales. It runs the length of the coast from the English border through Colwyn Bay and Bangor out to Holyhead, and almost all the competitive forecourts in the region sit within a few minutes of it.
Wrexham, Rhyl, Llandudno Junction and Bangor have the most choice, and the Irish ferry traffic through Holyhead gives the western end a steady, predictable flow of vehicles needing fuel at set times of day. Stations near the terminal are used to that pattern.
Snowdonia is where planning matters. Once you turn inland on the A470 or A5 toward Betws-y-Coed, Blaenau Ffestiniog and the mountain passes, the stations are few and often shut in the evening. Fill on the coast before heading into the park rather than after.
